Dr. Shilpi Bhadra Mehta is a primary care optometrist, graduate of New England College of Optometry, and has worked at Natick Eye Associates since 2010.
Her optometry interests include ocular disease, ocular nutrition, and how general disease and inflammation impacts the eye and vision. She recently wrote an article “Anatomy, Medicine, and Disease in Ancient India,” published by Hakkert, Amsterdam 2016 in Anatomy and Surgery: From Antiquity to the Renaissance.
Prior to this, she received a MA in Classical Art and Archaeology from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor and BA in Classics and Ancient History at the University of Texas at Austin.
She lives with her husband and 2 cats in the suburbs of Boston. Dr. Mehta enjoys cooking, hiking, ancient history, travel, and yoga.
Her clinical experience includes community health centers, Boston Medical Center, and Bascom Palmer Eye Institute – #1 ranked in ophthalmology for 16 years. She will soon obtain Ocular Nutrition Society Fellowship status and is a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner.
